I’m here to support you every step of the way. Teaching and helping others reach their creative goals is truly my passion—and it’s the reason I started all of this. I know I’ve fallen behind lately, and for that, I sincerely apologize. But I’m committed to doing my best to guide you however I can. When I first started out, I struggled alone, with no one willing to lend a hand. I had to learn everything through trial and error. I never want that for you. My mission is to help as many of you as possible—while I still have the opportunity to do so.

Give me ideas of things that you are confused, stumped, or just have no clue about. I will do the reasearch and a write up step by step on how it works! It can be anything about crafting. In my 40 years I have dabbled in just about everything so I think I have some knowledge on how it works and what I don’t have I will research.

Here are just a few ideas to get you going, but these are just what I am thinking about it can be anything at all. Just give me your idea of what you want to do. We will tackle it together.

Idea: Are you wanting to get into selling your products on Etsy or a Website? Let me know and I will walk you through how. I will also help you on pricing your items?

Idea: Sublimation?

Idea: Using Canva? Yes I have to get back into teaching more on Canva, I have been very laxed on this. Sorry.

etc, etc, etc

Leave your suggestions in the comments and I will put them all in a fill and start with the first and go to the last. I will give you credit for the suggestion unless you don’t want your name to be used. Just let me know. And one person out of all the suggestion will win a $25 prize. We will draw at the end of August. So get those suggestions in. This is open internationally.

Thanks so much. Looking forward to hearing from you, E

Hi Edith, thanks so much for this! I want to start a YouTube Channel and sell all of the journals I have made from watching your videos (and some others as well). I also want to learn how to sell and price the journals as well as learn how to create digitals on Canva and/or some other platform. I have Canva Pro, but I do not have Photo Shop. I need help with web site creating, just all of the things. My husband will be retiring soon, and I am hoping I can retire along with him, but we can’t survive on the retirement income from Social Security alone. I would be eternally grateful for any suggestions along these lines.

Hello Miss E.. your videos and kindness has been a great inspiration to me. Thank you for all you do.. for your idea I would like to know how to get started to make my own website to show and sell my books. I appreciate Etsy but will want to branch off of it I’m sure. Thank you for thinking of all of us creative beans in this world. Shannon

  3. Dorey Kern

I would love to learn how to make digitals in Canva!

  4. Marie White

Hi, Ms E! I love watching your videos and learning new ways of doing things. I tried selling my journals on Etsy, with no purchases at all. I know my journals are beautiful, but I don’t know why I didn’t make any sales. I kept a store for close to a year. Now I am thinking of going to “Goimagine.” Have you heard of it and what do you think about it? I also think I may be selling my journals too cheap. I could use some direction on that, as well. Thank you so much for ALL your help.

  5. Carla Schmidt

    Hello, Miss E!

First of all, I want to take a minute and let you know how much I love your kind and generous spirit! The way you share your talents and love of making journals is truly appreciated!
I would love to learn more about creating digitals and marketing, pricing, and selling my journals.

    I APPRECIATE YOU!!!

  6. Poppy

I have a whole bunch of finished journals and want to know how to sell them and the best place to sell them. Also, what kind of journals sell the best? How to price too. I know my time is valuable but I have no idea how to price these things. It’s not the same as crochet products as at all.

  7. Kristie

I have an opportunity to get a lot of vintage papers. How would I go about selling those? I would also like to sell the things I make. Pricing? Which app is best? Etsy, Whatnot, Teedoo?

  8. Sharna Cummings

I would like to start videos on YouTube but I’m not sure what equipment I need to do them. I also have lots of antique ephemera that I’d like to scan and make printables with but not sure how to create an Etsy store to try to sell them. Any help with these would be greatly appreciated.

  9. Lynnette Dallas

    Hi,
I would love to learn how to put together a junk journal using mixed matched digitals. Also what goes together without buying kits. Also what to sell them for. Thank you!! 🙂

  10. Rachelle

I would love to have an Edith Holden inspired kit. Would also love to see how you would assemble it. Thank you very much.

  11. Peggy Wilson

Hi Mrs. E. I thought of mountain lakes and streams for digital. I also want to know how to price my journals. Thank you.

  12. Belinda

Hi, I would like to get ideas for craft fair and how to participate in them.

  13. Candice Pierce

Like so many others I would like to know the best way to sell junk journals and how to price them. I have only been able to sell a few to friends, and for only 50 dollars each. I see on Etsy people pay hundreds. I would also like information on how to use AI in Canva to make custom pages.

  14. Patty Arthur

    Hi Edith,
My question: after listing products on Etsy, how do we actually draw customers to our site? There are many thousands of Esty shops and it seems to me that a new Etsy shop would have difficulty drawing customers.
Thank you for everything you do for us. You are truly an amazing woman and very much appreciated.
    Thanks again and God bless,
    Patty

  15. Deb

I’ve “thought” about 🤦🏻‍♀️ selling on Etsy but like anything new, it seems a little overwhelming to get started and I’ve heard the fees are higher than other platforms. I currently sell die cut embellishments and journals on eBay (and see people sell them for much more on Etsy) . Also interested on how you price your lovely journals. Thank you.

  16. Kathy Ude

Your top three tips to help a youtube crafting channel to grow. I’d like to start a youtube channel with crafting. Thank you!

  17. Dawn Murphy

Hello Ms. E…I’ve been a fan of you and your family for a long time. I enjoy you stories very much. I would love to learn how to make digital papers. (Don’t get me wrong, I Love the digital papers that you and your family make. The vibrant, bright colors are so beautiful.) I would live to make digital of different types, themes, etc… especially ones from the Fashions from the 1700’s – 1900’s. I love the Hello Dolly, big hats and long beautiful morning, afternoon and evening gowns that were wore.

  18. Daisy

I would like to know “how” to make digital papers. I have asked almost some people thatI follow and who actually creates them, and I only get hearts to my question (lol). I’m looking to make beautiful digitals, but I just want to be clearly shown how to gather the pictures and put them together; flowers for example. Knowing how to do this would be a great help allowing me to sell them and make a little bit of money. Thank you for your offer and your help!

  19. Tonya

I love making journals but I am absolutely terrible at making covers. I love to do the sewn fabric covers but I can never get them sewn straight. I just wondered if maybe you had some sewing tips about how to sew and cut them so that they come out even. Thanks for all that you do.

  20. Sherry

How do you decide on prices for the journals you sell?

  21. Melinda

Not sure if you’d be willing to share this but don’t know until you ask. How to start an at home business similar to Scrapbooking with ME? How did you know what wholesalers to contact for instance. What products you wanted to carry? How much to sell them for? What website company to go with?

  22. Pam

Sounds like a lot of people want to learn how to use Canva, myself included. I know I would understand it & be able to use it if you had a video or two or more about it. You’re such a good teacher.
    Have a blessed day

  23. Kate Holligan

I would like to learn how to price journals.

  24. Shelley

I know this is a repeat question, but how to price items you make? I have people tell me I should sell my scrapbook albums, but when you have a few that say I would buy one for $50.00 and people are selling them for $100-150 on etsy. They looked shocked. Then I feel bad when I tell them the price. Thanks Shelley

  25. Carol

    Hi Edith,

I have made a lot of covered comp. books, but I’m unable to go to shows to sell them. I plan on doing other things if I had a way to sell them. Ebay seems to complicated so I’d like to know if an Etsy shop would work for me. I’ve been giving things away just as a gesture of goodwill, but I could use extra cash like everyone else! I would make multiples if I had a way to sell them.

As far as what I would like to see you make, I’d love something in a red theme with deer, old barns, and an old piece of machinery sitting in a field of brush, etc. Perhaps a fallen down, wooden fence and other wildlife. I love deer, but most of the paper I see with deer is done in blue with snow. They are beautiful, but kind of Christmasy and too wintery for year round. Fall would be a great time for deer eating apples. I think you could take this and run with it. I love old country things!

  26. Rhonda Baumgarrtner

I would like to learn how you do the five hole binding. I’ve made a couple of larger journals that needed it but I wasn’t able to do.
    Thanks in Advance, Edith

    1. Pam

That’s a good suggestion. I use the 3- hole binding stitch a lot, but would love to learn the 5- hole stitch

  27. Evelyn Wade

I would like to learn more about how to make YouTube Videos. The process of editing and uploading.

  28. Susan Pulver

Hi E: I would like to learn more about pictures you build up on. Ones you glue pieces to make it look like 3D. I used to make some cards or Scrapbook pages. Thank you so much Susan

    1. Pam

Yes! I remember doing this kind of thing ages ago. That would be really fun

  29. Sandra

I would like to know if maybe you can give a suggestion on a formula for doing clusters, and maybe the amount of pages for a journal and about how many pockets, tags to put for the amount of pages you have per signature.

    I hope that makes sense.

    Have a blessed Day
    Sandra

  30. Sue

    Love everyone’s suggestions!

  31. Jill Healy

  33. Brenda Gail Brown

I need help taking the photos of what I want to sell.

    1. Gail Forsay

I was wondering if I would need to file paperwork for business name and tax number before I start selling on Etsy or another place? I have been gift giving my special occasion journals and scrapbooks and selling right out to when someone asks for one. Im wanting to bring in more income as health issues restrict me to work a reg job outside of my home. I know nothing about video, would I have to do them on each project or could I do sharp, clear photos with detailed description of products? What would be the best way to mail out products? How do you know what to charge for postage?
Thank you for any help! I am so great full to have someone to talk to about these things.

  34. Teri Chambliss

I don’t want to sell my journals but I would like to learn how to begin making some of my own digitals. With Canva? Any other options? I’d love to be able to make journals that look cohesive but use some more materials than just a kit, maybe even some junk.

  35. Lynda

Hi Ms E, I love making junk journals. I mostly wind up giving them away because I don’t know how to value or sell them. I live in a very small community in West Virginia and I’m extremely shy. Is there anything I can do to develop a way of selling my journals. Thank you for sharing you years of wisdom and knowledge. Lyn

  41. Melissa

I am new to junk journaling and I love watching your videos and learning from you. Your personality shines and I really enjoy your stories about your family and friends.
I would like to try to start a blog or YouTube channel but I don’t know what you need to start. Do you pay for the blog site? What kind of camera do you need to make videos? Also how do you make your beautiful kits?
Thank you so much for all your help and advice.
Blessing to you and your family.

  42. Margie

Pricing is probably my biggest issue, but what I want to do is digitals and just can’t get the canva thing figured out is it because I’m on my phone? Seems lately I just have a mental block, lots of ideas but when I sit down I just struggle.
And I wanted to give you appreciation for everything you do for us.

  43. Lisa

  44. Mary Swetlick

Hi Ms E, I love making journals and things that you have shown how. My problem is I don’t know how to post on instagram. It would be wonderful if I could get instructions on how to make instagram more friendly to use.

  45. Donna

I think I would like to Open estate store to sell some of my handmade journals and other stuff that I make

  46. Janice

I would like to learn how to make digitals. I wasn’t t sure if you Canva or something to make them in and how to format them. Also when you print out digitals do you have to print them one page at a time, or can they print one right after another without having to hit print for each page.

  47. Bev Hampton

Would love help on making digitals to sell in my Shopify store. I can make the basic pages but can’t seem to produce the ephemera shapes, envelopes, tags, etc. I currently use canva pro but I would be willing to purchase another program if it would help. Thank you for this Edith!

  48. Amy

I would appreciate help with selling online verses doing craft shows. I was interested in Kofi, Shopify, and possibly eBay. I also need help with knowing how to price and also advertising my products. I would appreciate any help you can provide. I just started a YouTube channel and I was just chosen for a design team. I am only posting my completed projects and have not done any tutorials. How do you sell your journals so quickly? I would love a Q&A if that is possible.

    1. Susan

Im interested in everything Amy had said. Also, where to sell besides YouTube , Ebay, Etsy and Craft Fairs. Im not interested in doing a YouTube as I shake way too much and my voice isnt pretty sounding to on YouTube as well. Also, would like you to do a Canva Class so we can make money on selling printables – where can one sell besides Etsy etc. Ive heard Etsy has alot of fees and Im mot familiar on selling there so maybe you can help us if we do want to sell on Etsy.

I have so many questions in my suggestions for you. I would appreciate if you can try yo help me out as i need a form of income since Im physically disabled and cant work but cant qualify for disability because of my husband income

  49. Nicolle

I would love to learn how to create my own digital designs/kits to sell using canva along with how to price them respectfully also how to figure out how to price my beaded dangles that I like to make to be able to sell them on either Etsy or start a ko-fi shop along with ways to promote properly. Might be interested in learning how to start a YouTube channel and what type of setup that I would need to start with a limited budget. Not being able to work a normal job due to chronic illnesses and not qualified for medical disability makes it difficult financially so looking for ways to work from home to bring in extra money would be helpful for my family.

  50. Elizabeth Haertel

I love learning from you. You are a great teacher. I’m interested in learning more about your take on making a folio – junk journal style.

  51. Bonnie Montgomery

I would like suggestions and ideas to deal with analysis paralysis. I love making journals, but I am incredibly slow at it because of indecision. I also struggle with using “the good stuff”, even though I know I should just do it! I could use some mindset hacks to move past the struggle. I love your journals!

I would like more tutorials on building different types of journals from beginning to end and filling them up.

  61. Marguerite Garcia

I have been making Prayer Journals, Recipe Albums and other various types of journals for a few years now. I sell them at a Craft Fair with great success, however the question I am asked the most is , do you have a website and if not why ?
My question is would this be beneficial and how do I go about doing this . Thank you for any assistance you are able to provide. Have a Blessed day .

  62. Kelly Anderson

I would love to know about sublimation and still trying to learn how to make a journal. I live in ohio.

    1. Peggy Wilson

I love making the ephemera, but not the journal. Please help me find some way I can sell what I make. Everything I do is one of a kind. Thank you.

  63. Amy Petterson

I would love to start a you tube station and possibly esty. I heard that etsy’s fees are pretty high. How do I determine if it is lucrative for me to do this? Also, how do you title your business?

  64. Carol Sue Culver

Edith – I love your channel, your kits, and your ideas for building journals. I am retired and have been doing mini albums for special occasions for some family and friends. However, I am finding that my SS just doesn’t spread far enough to invest my money in junk journal kits without being able to sell them. When I look at the junk journal kits, I am enamored by the designs but have difficulty justifying adding ledger and other unmatched papers, afraid that it detracts from the design of the kit. I’m not sure where in my area I might be able to sell my albums or junk journals without investing in a website or advertising. PLEASE Help me!

  65. Audrey Dyke

I have been making journals for about 3 years now, I love doing it and have tried to learn many techniques. I have made journals as gifts, and donations for fundraising events, I always get the same kind of responces from people. They say I should sell my work. I just don’t know how to price things that I make. I usually put weeks or months into each piece and always try to make each one something I feel is full of love and care. Sometimes I wonder if it’s just a lack of confidence. My peices make me happy and when other like them I feel so fulfilled, But how do I go about making money at what I love to do?? Seems like an impossible dream.

  66. Merry K Nielsen

I love making the journals! I definitely need to make some money creating the journals, making colored tissue sculptures on wine bottles, and teaching my students how to sew penny rugs; My daughter is concerned that I am not able to afford the extra materials to make the journals beautiful plus other hobbies. I give away most of my journals and other Art work now. I would like to make at least $1000.00 a month to supplement what my SS doesn’t cover these days like medical needs, and enough groceries for a whole month plus pay for my hobbies.

  67. Kim Machaj

I am very interested in learning more about copywrite… What’s the best policy about putting images, etc… in a journal you hope to sell?

  68. Sandy L

Not sure how to use this site without having to download an app…so please instruct us how to do this. I do not like to put apps on my pc because I do not trust them. I want the help on some of the topics but do not want to download an app in order to do so. thanks Edith…have a great one.

    1. Edith

You never need to download an app. If you see a pop-up ad just find the x and close it, or it may just say close. I use the ads because it helps me pay for the site and the emails I send out. But every ad has a close button on it. Either close or an x just close it out. The only thing from our site you ever need to download is our freebies if you want them. And on those there is a little button just below the last picture that says download.Hope this helps. E

      1. Patty

Hi. I’m not really sure how to make a suggestion and count it but I’m really interested in making my own digitals!! I’m not familiar with Canva so I would need to learn how to do this. Thank you.

  69. Angela Savinelli

    Hi Edith,
I have been a subscriber to your youtube channel for a long time. I love making tags and journals. I am 75 years old and am struggling financially looking for remote data entry work, no luck so far. I have three completed writing journals ready to sell and have spent a lot of time trying to create an Etsy account. I bought special software turning my video into a thumbnail which looks terrible compared to what I see on Etsy. I gave up when I got to the part of the application where I had to provide them with the password to my bank account. My journals are intended as writing journals. They are not made from fabric but are made from chip board, are pretty and have lots of lined paper for writing. I even created a blog which I am supposed to promote on “X” and other places. I went to “X” and found it confusing. Do you have any suggestions for selling my writing journals? Thank you for your help.

  70. Cherri

I would like to find a program to make pockets and ephemera and then learn to use said program <3

  71. Katherine

I would like suggestions and training on etsy and a good discussion of the pro and cons of doing canva?
    How to use canva?
Have you used AI in your art? If so, suggestions of how?
I am selling my journals at a high-end art/gift shop in a nearby town. I would not, however, be opposed to considering other markets.
    Thanks

  72. Jima Zimmerman

How do I promote my journals without a website?
I don’t do you tube, but if do instagram.

  73. Moll Rose Murphy

I would really love to sell my journals but I don’t have a clue how or what all it entails. Being partially dsabled it’s hard for me to get out sometimes.

  74. Bea Rosenleaf

    A couple ideas:

The business of selling pre-made journals. What kind sell the best…size, type, etc.. Is it possible to just make plain journals with just a few printable papers and the rest other kinds of paper. Then sell the ephemera bagged up to do a “diy finish it yourself” type book.

Pricing. I know this is a volatile one, but a run-of the mill starting price. Price for books, price for bags of ephemera, etc.

    Just a few ideas. 🙂

  75. Jean

I would love to know how to start and keep a utube channel.
    Jean

  76. Cathy

I would love to learn how to make printables for junk journalling. Thanks for the opportunity to learn a new creative skill

  77. Milita DeMorrow

I’ve been trying to get my small crafting business going for about five years. Besides my washi tape storage hoops (which you kindly showed on your channel), I haven’t sold much. I’ve done craft shows and have anactive Etsy page, for which Ipay to advertise. I know my stuff is good…so why won’t it sell? Please help! ❤️

  78. Linda

My suggestion would be to address pricing. I have no idea where to even start. Thanks, Edith!

  79. Angela Bobier

I am interested in creating digitals in Canva and selling them online. What size is best to design? 12 x 12?

    1. Cindy Thompson

I am also interested in more class on using canva. I really enjoyed the first few you provided and I signed up for the skillshare canva classes but you are easier and more through teacher. Please give us the benefit of what you have learned. Cindy

  80. Nancy Nicastri

Oh boy!!! Do I ever need help!!! I would love to try making my own digitals with Canva. It looks so complicated but I love what I see you create. It’s so inspiring, Edith!
My other issue is layering! Whenever I attempt to use different textures, paper, ephemera, etc., it looks like a hot mess! When I am using digital paper with beautiful graphics, I get lost in the picture (not wanting to cover it up) and then I get a mental block on how to decorate it. I would love any advice on how to use papers with beautiful scenery/graphics in a junk journal.
    Thank you so much!
God bless you & your beautiful family! 💗🙏✝️

  81. Cheryl

I have an Etsy shop for my junk journals, but I really have a problem with pricing. I’m afraid if I price them too high then no one will buy them because they don’t understand why the price is high. So then I try to make smaller items to justify a smaller price, but that’s not working either. I only have two things in my shop from last Fall. I think I want to take them out and I had some summary ones to replace them with but learning how to price is tricky for me.
    Be blessed, Cheryl

  82. Loree Holliday

By the way I forgot to say I live in Iowa, so the pricing is probably different here I’m sure.

  83. Loree Holliday

I want to know what you think is fair pricing for journals I don’t want to go too high but I don’t want to go to low either and sometimes it’s you know hard to determine the price.

  84. Michelle

I would like to sell journals and journal charms so information on how and where to market these would be appreciated.

  85. Trudy Hale

I want to sell my journals etc on Etsy, or even fb marketplace, and local markets and craft sales. I’m scared as to how to do it and pricing scares me as I don’t want to scare someone off but I want to price them so I make a little after my materials are covered. I would so appreciate some advise on how to go about all this.
And also I would suggest talking about how much is too little when decorating a journal
    Thanks so much,

  86. Tara

I’m wanting to get started making videos but the idea of having to learn how to edit them and everything has me paralyzed.

  87. Brenda Allen

I would love to be able to sell some junk journals that someone would actually want to buy and use. Yours are always so beautiful.

    1. Kris

I would like to learn how to download printable’s
